I love image styles, and find them indispensible in my theming work. But there's one little thing that has always bugged me - when you're on the summary page (admin/config/media/image-styles), there's just a list of style names, but no clue as to which effects they are using. You see the complete effects information when you tag on an individual style, though, so the information is there. So I created a tiny module to add this missing information to the summary page.
The trick is to override theme_image_style_list with a new function that adds the effects as a column. This is done with a call to
hook_theme_registry_alter(). One little gotcha, though; if you also have the Image style flush module installed, it is also going to try to override the theme. So I created an install function that checks for Image style flush, and if it is installed, we grab its weight, and set our new module to a slightly higher one.
I'm happy as a clam now; I can finally see what styles do without having to drill down through them now!
