I've been fortunate to have had a very interesting career, with many twists, turns, and side trips over the years. I had originally planned ot be a professional musician, but my involvement with electronic music led me to the study of computers, and I discovered creating software could be as compelling and fascinating as composing music. I've worked in most of the classical programming languages, from assembly to BASIC to c to Java to PERL. Most of my work these days is in PHP, with markup in HTML and CSS.
I've been a web used since the early days of Mosaic, and have been involved in all the various incarnations, from the days before images, through table-based design, CSS design, AJAX, and so-called Web 2.0. If one thing has been constant, it is change, and I've always enjoyed keeping up with the latest developments and practices, and learning to separate the concepts of value from the passing fad.
I've spent the last several years creating content management-based systems, and adding CMS features to otherwise static sites. Although I still write some sites totally from scratch, I work primarily with Open Source CMS frameworks these days, and create custom modules and extensions to add custom functionality. I am a strong believer in making web sites be conversational with its users, using blogs, feedback, and commenting systems to involve site visitors with a business.
If you are considering creating a new web site, or modernizing an existing one, please consider me. I strive to create sites that work, for both my clients and their customers.
